Finsbury Green Pty Ltd (ABN 52 007 743 151) is committed to providing quality logistics, printing, mailing and managed services to you and this policy outlines our ongoing obligations to you in respect to how we manage your Personal Information.
We have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act). The APPs govern the way in which we collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of your Personal Information.

At Finsbury Green, we understand the importance attached to information that identifies you. Protecting the confidentiality of that information is fundamental to the way we do business, so we treat very seriously the ongoing trust you have in us keeping that information private and confidential.
What is Personal Information?
Personal Information is any information or opinion that could identify an individual, whether the information or opinion is true or not.
What Personal Information do we collect?
Examples of Personal Information we collect includes names, addresses, email addresses, mobile phone, landline phone, dates of birth, photographs, facsimile numbers, bank and customer account details.
We also collect Sensitive Information from our clients to provide our printing and mailing services. Examples of Sensitive Information we collect includes trade union memberships and associations, religious and philosophical beliefs and other information considered sensitive in nature.
We also collect Personal Information about children from our customers to provide printing and mailing services to them.
We also collect information on current employees (name, address, banking details, next of kin etc) and from prospective employees. Finsbury Green retains all information relating to unsuccessful applicants for a period of six months, after which time this information is destroyed.
Why do we collect your Personal Information?
We collect your personal information to offer our services to you and our customers, and occasionally for marketing. You give us consent to use this information when you agree to a contract, approve a quote, or use our online systems. If you are a customer of one of our customers, your consent comes through our customer when they agree to a contract, approve a quote, or use our systems.
We may also use your Personal Information for secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose, in circumstances where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure. You may unsubscribe from our mailing/marketing lists at any time by contacting us in writing.
How do we collect your Personal Information?
Personal Information is obtained only by lawful means which may include face to face or online meetings, general correspondence, by telephone and facsimile, by email, via our website www.finsbury.com.au, from your website, from media and publications, from other publicly available sources, from cookies, from our customers or their customers, as directed by them.
When we collect Personal Information from you, we will, where appropriate and where possible, explain to you why we are collecting the information and how we plan to use it.
Sensitive Information
Sensitive information is defined in the Privacy Act to include information or opinion about such things as an individual’s racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union or other professional body, criminal record or health information.
Sensitive information will be used by us only:
- For the primary purpose for which it was obtained;
- With your consent; or
- Where required or authorised by law.
Third Parties
Where reasonable and practicable to do so, we will collect your Personal Information only from you. However, in many circumstances we are provided with information by our customers.
Where Personal Information is provided to us by a customer, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that the client has made you aware of the information provided to us.
Disclosure of Personal Information
Your Personal Information may be disclosed in a number of circumstances including the following:
- Third parties where you consent to the use or disclosure; and
- Where required or authorised by law.
We generally do not disclose your Personal Information to overseas recipients. Where overseas disclosure is required, we will contact you or our customer to obtain consent.
Security of Personal Information
Your Personal Information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss and from unauthorized access, modification or disclosure.
Our network is complemented by firewalls, hardware and software encryption, password protection, virus protection and other high grade security controls. In addition to technical controls, we implement organisational controls, and a risk management framework aligned to industry best practice standards. We ensure that security requirements are maintained and kept at a level that ensures the Personal Information is secure.
We may use third party suppliers to electronically store personal information. Where we do this, we use contractual arrangements to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to protect that information and restrict the use of it to its purpose.
When your Personal Information is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was obtained, we will take reasonable steps to destroy your Personal Information. However, most of the Personal Information is or will be stored in customer files which will be kept by us for a minimum of 5 years.
Access to your Personal Information
You may access the Personal Information we hold about you and to update and/or correct it, subject to certain exceptions. If you wish to access your Personal Information, please contact us in writing.
Finsbury Green will not charge any fee for your access request but may charge an administrative fee for providing a copy of your Personal Information.
In order to protect your Personal Information we require identification from you before releasing the requested information.
Maintaining the Quality of your Personal Information
It is an important to us that your Personal Information is up to date. We will take reasonable steps to make sure that your Personal Information is accurate, complete and up-to-date. If you find that the information we have is not up to date or is inaccurate, please advise us as soon as practicable so we can update our records and ensure we can continue to provide quality services to you.
