About the role
- The Commercial Manager is a pivotal and senior role – you’ll manage the team of Printing Estimators providing accurate and timely printing estimates (offset and digital print).
- Be responsible for managing, reviewing and updating the estimating system including costing rates.
- Obviously, a strong knowledge of the print estimating process, and print production processes and materials more broadly is required, in order to provide credible team leadership, and commercial acumen to ensure accuracy of cost reviews and standards.
- Experience with continuous improvement principles and methodology, previous success implementing process improvement initiatives, and a genuine desire to review and challenge the way work has been produced previously is highly desirable.
About you
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Previous printing industry estimating experience mandatory.
- Flexibility to undertake both a tactical focus (pricing requests) and a strategic focus (reviewing commercial aspects and process improvement) simultaneously.
- Project management skills to enable tasks are prioritised, resourced appropriately and completed on time.
- Strong team management, you lead by example, and are a clear and effective communicator.
- A driven and motivating continuous improvement outlook – challenging the norm, collaborative and inclusive and seeking options.
- Self-motivated and takes great pride in producing high-quality work.
- Has strong attention to detail.
- Experience maintaining print specific MIS systems advantageous.
